Section 696
Determining the death certificate:

(1) Due to the death of a foreigner in Nepal, the order of priority of the rightful owner of his/her property in Nepal is determined in accordance with the law of the country in which the person had citizenship at the time of his/her death.
(2) If the law under sub-section (1) cannot be ascertained, it shall be determined according to the law of the country of his/her usual residence at the time of his/her death, and if such country cannot be ascertained, it shall be determined according to the law of Nepal.
